    DIRECTOR

    Joanie serves as Associate Artistic Director for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Prior to Cincinnati, she was a freelance director based in Chicago. Joanie has directed at theatres across the country, including Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Studio Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Studio Theatre in Washington DC, Cleveland Play House, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Philadelphia Theatre Company. Joanie previously served as Artistic Director of WaterTower Theatre in Texas and before that, as Associate Artistic Producer at Victory Gardens Theater, as part of the Leadership U One-on-One Fellowship funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation administered through the Theatre Communications Group. She was also a Drama League Fellow, a Goodman Theatre Michael Maggio Director Fellow, an SDSF Denham Fellow and a member of the Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab.     Jacqueline’s award-winning design work has been seen in Chicago and regionally. Some favorite productions include Around the World in Eighty Days for Lookingglass Theatre Company; Eclipsed for Pegasus Theatre; The Book of Will and Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley for Northlight Theatre; Richard III for The Gift Theater, produced at Steppenwolf Theatre; Stick Fly for Windy City Playhouse; Welcome Home Jenny Sutter for Next Theatre Company; Pygmalion and Love and Information for Remy Bumppo Theatre Company. Upcoming designs include Zorro: The Musical for Music Theatre Works and Georgiana and Kitty: Christmas at Pemberley for Northlight Theatre. Jackie spent her pandemic carving and creating puppets. (Theatreworks); The Underpants, A Perfect Wedding, Shake Rattle and Roll and Smokey Joe’s Café (Florida Studio Theatre); Fellowship! (New York Musical Festival); Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Theatre League); and Love, Janis (Zach Theatre). Her other Kansas City credits include The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, Tally’s Folly, Tally and Son, 5th of July and The Cripple of Inishman at the Kansas City Actors Theatre. As the resident designer for the Unicorn Theatre (1995-2010), Rachael designed over 50 shows from 1995to 2010.

    A Chicago-based theatre artist, Thomas is an ensemble member at Steep Theatre Company. His work has been seen in Chicago and nationally at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Writers Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and many more.
